A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE,ADOPTING THE 2023 PUTNAM
COUNTY MULTI-HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN
WHEREAS,the City of Greencastle recognizes the threat that natural hazards pose to people and
property within Putnam County and the City of Greencastle;
WHEREAS,the Putnam County Emergency Management Agency has prepared a multi-hazard
mitigation plan,hereby known as 2023 PUTNAM COUNTY MULTI-HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN in
accordance with federal laws,including the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency
Assistance Act,as amended;the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968,as amended;and the
National Dam Safety Program Act,as amended;
WHEREAS, the 2023 PUTNAM COUNTY MULTI-HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN identifies mitigation
goals and actions to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and property in the City of Greencastle
and Putnam County from the impacts of future hazards and disasters;and
WHEREAS.adoption by the City of Greencastle demonstrates its commitment to hazard mitigation
and achieving the goals outlined in the 2023 PUTNAMCOUNTYMULTI-HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Putnam
County,Indiana,that:
Section 1. In accordance with local rules for adopting resolutions,the City of Greencastle adopts the
2023 PUTNAM COUNTY MULTI-HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN. While content related to the City of
Greencastle may require revisions to meet the plan approval requirements,changes occurring after
adoption will not require the City of Greencastle to re-adopt any further iterations of the plan.
Subsequent plan updates following the approval period for this plan will require separate adoption
Resolutions.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Indiana
