A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD '
AWARDING A CONTRACT TO~ SILVIA CONSTRUCTION, IN THE AMOUNT
OF $419,789.00 FOR THE MARIPOSA LANE, CEDAR AVENUE, CORTLAND
AVENUE AND LOUISE AVENUE, STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT,
PROJECT NUMBER 5-5216, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
' ~ THE AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the Mariposa Lane, Cedar Avenue, Cortland Avenue, and Louise,
Avenue, StreetImprovement Project, Project No. 5-5216 is scheduled for construction
during the FY 2001-2002; and
WHEREAS, Mariposa Lane, Cedar Avenue, Cortland Avenue, and Louise
Avenue, Street Improvement Project is funded by Community Development Block Grant
Funds; and
WHEREAS, the bid opening was held on March 7, 2002, and Silvia Construction
was the apparent lowest bidder at $419,789 00, and
WHEREAS, a reference check has revealed that this contractor has the necessary
experience for this type of project.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the contract for the Mariposa Lane, Cedar Avenue, Cortland
Avenue, and Louise Avenue, Street Improvement Project, Project Number 5-5216 be
awarded to Silvia Construction, for its low bid of $419,789 00
Section 2. That the Mayor rs hereby authorized to execute the agreement
between the City of Lynwood and Silvia Construction.
Section 3 This resolution shall take effect immediately upon rts"adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 19th day of March 2002.
