A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL 'OF
THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE
SPONSORSHIP OF A LEASE FOR OFFICE SPACE FOR`
DRIVE BY AGONY FOR THE PERIOD OF ONE YEAR
WHEREAS, Dnve By Agony; anon-profit organization, started as a cable TV
show for the purpose of educating the public about the effects of violence, serves as a
', - self-help support system for the victims of violent crimes, and
WHEREAS, Dnve By Agony organizes annual peace marches, assists victims of
violent cnmes with referrals, and has formed S.A.F.E , a camp program for at-nsk
students which encourages the development of youth leadership; and
WHEREAS, Dnve By Agony needs an office space where they can hold
activities and. continue in their fight against violent. crimes and to demonstrate the
important role that victims of violence can play in prevention efforts. '
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS•
Section 1. That the City Manager is authorized to provide a grant irr the
.amount of $5,800 to cover the costs of off ce space and a,secunty deposit, contingent
upon Ms. Hawkins signing a waiver with the City
` Section 2. That this resolution goes into effect immediately after adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED AND .ADOPTED this 19`h day of March,, 2002
