WHEREAS, the rental of stages and canopies has been apart of these events, and
RESOLUTION NO. 2002.059
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE SOLICITATION OF VENDORS THROUGH THE
INFORMAL BID PROCESS FOR THE PURCHASE OF PORTABLE STAGING
AND CANOPY EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood operates various special events throughout the
year; and
WHEREAS, the costs associated with the usage of these stages and canopies
wouldbe reduced if these items were purchased outright and owned by the City of
Lynwood; and

WHEREAS, the purchase of this equipment was not included as part of the
adopted budget for fscal year 2001/2002.
WHEREAS, the acquisition of these items can be more economically, efficiently
and expeditiously acquired through the use of the informal bid process, and
WHEREAS, the City Couricil• by a 4/5 vote can approve an expenditure through
an alternative bid procedure, and
NOW, THE-REFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
proclaim, order and resolve as follows•
Section 1. The City Council waives the formal bid procedure for the
acquisition of portable staging and canopied tents. '
