Home My Public Portal About20090130 BB work sessionCOUNCIL WORK SESSION JANUARY 30, 2009 1 CALL TO ORDER The January 30, 2009, "Brown Bag" Work Session was convened at 12:00 P.M. by Mayor John Landwehr. ATTENDANCE The following Council Members were present: Present: Carroll, Harvey, Klindt, Koon, Layton, Medin, Penfold, Randolph, and Scrivner Absent: Ferguson A quorum was present. DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS Announcements of upcoming meetings & events: City Administrator Steve Rasmussen will announce that a Council Work Session will be held on Monday, February 9, at which time the Council will include closed session. The agenda will be finalized and published within the next few days. Councilwoman Cindy Layton asked staff to provide the Council a summary of the topics to be discussed in the closed session. Bills 2008 -125, 2008 -130, and 2008 -131 (property acquisition and Green Meadow Drive development): Mayor John Landwehr asked City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus to send the Development Agreement associated with this property to the Council. Councilman Dan Klindt disclosed that he will abstain on discussion or action on this bill, as well as Bills 2008- 130 and 2008 -131, and requested that Councilman Mike Harvey be named as sponsor of the two latter bills in lieu of his name. Bill 2008 -127 (Oil Well Road rezoning): The Council asked staff for a history of this rezoning since it was apparently denied in the past. Bill 2008 -117 (City View Drive name change): Councilman Mike Harvey and City Planner Janice McMillan are scheduling a meeting for the affected property owners as well as the East Side Business Association to allow those parties to discuss their concerns on the matter. Bill 2008 -119 (Food Operating Permit Fees): Councilwoman Carrie Carroll explained the proposed amendments which she plans to distribute to the Council on Monday and asked anyone who has questions or suggestions to contact her over the weekend. Mayor John Landwehr suggested it would be beneficial to have any proposed amendments in writing to help in the discussion of such matters.
