RESOLUTION REQUESTING FUTURE COUNCILS TO KEEP CEMETERY
ORDINANCE INTACT AS VOTED
WHEREAS: The Town Council of the city known as the town of Watertown is
adopting an ordinance on December 15, 2009, to prohibit above the ground
structures at Ridgelawn Cemetery; and
WHEREAS: The Town Council of 2009 cannot bind future councils to maintain
this ordinance in force as voted.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Council of the City known as
the Town of Watertown respectfully requests future councils to keep this
cemetery ordinance intact, as voted by the Town Council, as it protects the
beauty, open space and environment of the cemetery. It also protects the quality
of life and safety of the neighborhood. .
