CALL TO ORDER
The February 13, 2009, "Brown Bag" Work Session was convened at 12:05 P.M. by Mayor
John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Harvey, Klindt, Koon, Layton, Medin, Penfold, and Scrivner
Absent: *Carroll (arrived at 12:15 P.M.) Ferguson, and Randolph
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
2008 -133 (Amending animal ordinance): Several questions were asked regarding this bill
which staff answered.
*Councilwoman Carrie Carroll arrived at this point in the meeting (12:15 P.M.)
Appointments: Councilman Jim Penfold stated that Mr. Minihan preferred to be called
"Thomas" rather than "Tom." Also, all the JCTV Steering Committee appointments will be
third -term appointments, which will require a two - thirds majority of the Council to approve.
The agenda will be corrected to reflect those changes.
Presentations from Staff, Consultants, and Invited Guests: Fire Chief Robert Rennick
stated that the Firemens Pension Board would be available at Monday night's meeting to
make a presentation and answer questions about Bill 2008 -132 (adds firemen to LAGERS
retirement system).
2008 -125 (acquire property through condemnation): City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus
stated that staff is requesting that this be placed on the Informal Calendar at Monday night's
meeting to allow more time to finalize some issues associated with it.
