CALL TO ORDER
The March 9, 2009, Council Work Session was convened at 5:30 P.M. by Mayor John
Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Carroll, Ferguson, Klindt, Koon, Layton, Penfold, Randolph *, Scrivner
Absent: Harvey, Medin
* Councilwoman Randolph arrived at 5:35 p.m.
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: 2008 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT REPORT
Randy Allen and Missy Bonnot of the Chamber of Commerce gave a power point
presentation to the Council of the Economic Development of 2008 and upcoming prospects
for 2009. After questions from the Council the Mayor thanked the Chamber of Commerce
for the presentation and continues partnership with the City.
PRESENTATION OF INFRASTRUCTURE NEEDS
Community Development director Pat Sullivan presented a power point on the City annual
infrastructure needs. He presented several Capital Improvement programs with funding
shortfalls. Council expressed concern with stormwater funding. The Mayor and Council
asked the Public Works and Planning Committee to report back to the Council with
suggestions on how to increase funding for stormwater.
PRESENTATION ON SIDEWALKS
Matt Morasch of Community Development made a presentation on a proactive sidewalk
repair program. Mayor recommended picking out a few of the worst panels of sidewalk in
the City and doing a pilot project to see if the program would be successful. Council asked
the Public Works and Planning Committee to bring forward a more detailed proposal for this
program.
