RESOLUTION AUTHORIZmG THE ivIA YOR TO EXECUTE AN mTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT-MIDDLESEX COUNTY STREET

WHEREAS, the Interlocal Services Act, NJ.S.A..40:8A-I et seq. encourages
counties and municipalitIes to, enter into contracts for the joint provision of
services in order to effectuate economies in government co~ts to reduce property
-taxes 'and provides legal authority and procedures to effectuate ~uch agreements;
and
WHEREAS, the County of Middlesex (the "County") and the Borough ofCarteret
(the "Borough") are desirous of entering into such an Interlocal Services
Agreement providing for the milling and resurfaCing of various streets within the
Borough in conjunction with the 2007 County Road Paving Program; 'and .
WHEREAS, this agreement- will effectuate economy by coordinating the milling
and resurfacing of various Borough streets with the County Road' Resurfacing
Program; and
WHEREAS, in accord with N.J.S.A 40:8A-4. said proposed contract is available
and open to public inspection at the Office of the Carteret lvlunicipal Clerk,
Carteret Municipal Building, 61 Cooke Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey, between
the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough ofCarteret as follows:
1. That the Mayor and Borough Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the
Proposed revised lnterlocal Services Agreement with the County of
Middlesex providing for the milling and resurfacing of various Borough
streets as detailed in said Agreement and in a form a acceptable to the
Borough Attorney.
2, ':('hat a certified copy .of this .Resolution with original signatures and the
Borough Seal, along with three executed copies ofthe aforementioned
Interlocal Services Agreement, be forwarded to David R. Campion,
Director of Public .Works, for processing.
