HomeMy Public PortalAbout1984-038Member 6/-51-fl introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. (,/�--.3? RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DREDGING OF LAKE MEDINA WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that the lakes and streams situated in the City of Medina are valuable resources; and WHEREAS, several of the lakes in the City of Medina that were formerly used for navigational and recreational purposes have, through natural means, filled in to such an extent that they are no longer used for such purposes; and WHEREAS, Lake Medina was once a lake used by the residents of the City of Medina for navigational and recreational purposes but has become filled in to such an extent that the lake is no longer used for such purposes; and WHEREAS, it would be in the public interests of the City of Medina to dredge Lake Medina to improve navigation, swimming, and other recreational uses; and WHEREAS, the dredging of Lake Medina may coincide with bio- logical and aquatic research to determine the wild life and plant life in the area and to determine the possibility of curtailing the filling in of the numerous City lakes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina that it is in the public interest that Lake Medina be dredged to conform with the plans and permits filed with the Department of Natural Resources.
