APPROVING CHANGE ORDER # 1 & 2 and PAYMENT ESTIMATE # 2
NORTHSTARENTERPRlSES,INC./
CIVIC CENTER PARK IMPROVEMENTS
'VHEREAS, the Goveming Body of the Borough of Carteret has previously awarded a
contract to Northstar Enterprises, Inc. in the amount of$2,319,177.55 for the Civic
Ceilter Park Improvements; and
\VHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer for the project, CME Associates, has
advised the Governing Body that a modification afthe contract is reasonable and
necessary and has recommended that the aforesaid cQutract be modified in accordance
with Contract Change Order #1  (see attached); and
WHEREAS, Change Order #1 & #2 includes a change in the description of work to.
increase quantities to reflect as-built conditions, and to pI."ovide for certain supplementary
items; and
\VHEREAS, Change Order #1 & #2 provides for a net increase in the contract price in
the amount of$461,147.65, resulting in a revised contract price of$2,780,325.20
including all previously approved change orders; and
'VHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer, T & M Associates has advised that the
above described changes and/or mJdifications to the project were unforeseen at the time
oftlle award oftlle original contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret as' follows:
I.
That the Contract Change Order#l & #2 attached hereto and made a part
hereof, resulting in a net increase of$461,147.65 and resulting in a revised
contract price of$2,780,325.20 is hereby approved.
2.
That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to execute
Change Order #1 & #2 based upon the recommendation of the Borough
Engineer.
3.
A copy of this resolution and a fully executed copy of Change Order #1 & <
#2 be forwarded to CME Associates for distribution to Northstar
Enterprises, Inc.
