CALL TO ORDER
The April 17, 2009, "Brown Bag" Work Session was convened at 12:06 P.M. by Mayor John
Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Carroll, Ferguson, Harvey, Klindt, Koon, Layton, Medin, Penfold, and
Scrivner
Absent: Randolph
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Bills:
Questions were asked about Bill 2008 -162 (pro- active sidewalk repair program), and the
changes made in the substitute bill which was distributed were explained by City Counselor
Nathan Nickolaus. Following discussion, Councilman Jim Penfold agreed to introduce a new
bill which would render the substitute Bill 2008 -162 unnecessary. The new bill would be
introduced as Bill 2008 -173, the rules suspended, and then passed by Council at the first
meeting on Monday night. The Law Department drafted, and distributed, 2008 -173 while
the discussion was taking place.
2009 -6: The names should be corrected to reflect one of the four recipients would be "Stuart
Murphy and Mary Ann Hall" rather than Stuart and Mary Ann Murphy.
Mayor John Landwehr reminded the Council that Council portraits would be taken
immediately after the 5:45 pre- meeting, and before the 6:00 Regular Meeting, on Monday
night.
