BOARD ADMINISTRATION
1) MOTION made by Arthur Stewart to recommend to Board of Selectmen; To MOVE Patricia
Eggers from Alternate (appointed yearly) member of the ZBA to REGULAR MEMBER ( 3 year
term) as of September, 2017 . Second by John Nixon . VOTE : 6 - 0 - 0 .
2 ) REORGANIZATION of ZBA. MOTION by Patricia Eggers to Continue with the same leadership
from FY17 ; Brian Harrison ( Chair) and Arthur Stewart (Vive - Chair) . Second by Paul Kearney,
VOTE : 6 - 0 - 0 . Both candidates accepted .
Minutes of July 11 , 2017
MOTION by Arthur Stewart to accept the Minutes of June 11, 2017 as presented. Second by John Nixon.

17 = 15 The Family School, 3570 Main Street, in the RM zoning district. Map 28 Lot 35 - 3 ,
(previously M 126 L 90) . The applicant seeks a Dimensional Variance under MGL 40A- 9 and
Brewster Zoning Bylaw 179 - 52 for construction of an 8 foot fence with overhead mesh netting
along the Main Street ( MA Rte . , 6A) property line .

Members hearing this application are , Arthur Stewart, John Nixon, Jeanne Kampas, Pat Eggers and
Brian Harrison .
Ms . Marcia Galazzi was present to explain this application . (Brief overview)
In attendance with Ms . Galazzi was her husband and Chris Galazzi ( Head of Maintenance for The Family
School)
• Md . Galazzi stated the school, camp and roadway was a busy place
• Their main concern is safe use of the abutting play area to 6A
• Historic District Committee has approved a six (6) foot fence plus a two (2 ) foot lattice top making
it total eight ( 8) feet.
• Setback is to be four (4) feet from the sidewalk
BOARD DISCUSSION
• After reviewing Department Review statement from Conservation Agent (Noelle Bramer) the
Board felt a CONTINUANCE might be appropriate to file WITH Conservation for a RDA
(Request for determination of applicability) .
• Elevations are different / significant changes
• Changes were made with church reconstruction
• The STATE created the current catch basin system
• Benchmark is off
• This application needs a VARIANCE yet the application had NOT met all three (3 ) criteria
Open to Public Input
• No one spoke to this application .
MOTION by Patricia Eggers to Close to Public Input .
Second by Paul Kearney
VOTE : 6- 0- 0
• Board felt a CONTINUANCE would be best to give time to apply to Conservation
Mrs . Galazzi agreed to a CONTINUANCE FOR September 12 , 2017 meeting
MOTION by Patricia Eggers to Continue application 1745 (the Family School) to September 12 ,
2017 as requested by applicant. Second by John Nixon, VOTE : 6 = 0 - 0
MOTION by Patricia Eggers to adjourn at 7 : 15 pm
