MEETING MINUTES
In attendance :
Board Members : Mark Ells, Barnstable; Tom Guerino, Bourne; Jill Goldsmith, Chatham; Peter Johnson-Staub,
Falmouth, Bob Cafarelli, Harwich, George (Bud) Dunham, Sandwich, Robert Lawson, Yarmouth; Myra
Suchenicz, Orleans, Dorothy Voelker, Yarmouth; David Schropfer, Eastham. Others in attendance : John
Kennedy, MV; Fred Valdivia, MV; D . Foster, MV; Henry Swiniarski, CCRTA; Tom Cahir, CCRTA; Kristin

T . Guerino called the meeting to order @ 9 : 00 a .m.
A 68 . 12% quorum was determined .
Approval of December 21, 2016 Advisory Board Meeting Minutes
• T. Guerino - Abstained; D . Schropfer - Motioned; M. Ells - Second . Approved.
T. Cahir spoke of the CCRTA involvement of the following :
• CapeFLYER 511, year
• TOD - RMV
• Housing
• Barnstable Parking Issues
• Senior Mobility
• Zip Car
• MassDOT Bike Week
• J1 Students, Bike Lights, Discounted Fare
D . Schropfer mentioned the J1 Students primarily use European directions ( against traffic instead of with
traffic) .
K . Boyd attested to the bike safety with J1s are being addressed .
T. Cahir discussed the Riders Guide and the addition of 2 stops :
• Mashpee Village
• Chatham Broad Reach
T. Cahir went on to discuss the Financial Report and Audit. Thanked the Executive Committee for today' s
vote . DART Service and D . Foster praised for his good work . J . Kennedy of MV also praised for his success of
reducing over time cost and his good work . CBA vote this weekend, J. Kennedy confident it will go well .
MV' s M . Griffin and F . Valdivia received awards for safety . T. Cahir also acknowledged G . Cannon for his
leadership at the Cape Cod Commission . The Grant Manager' s Report consisted of upgraded phone and radio;
overhauled 4 Gilligs; new security camera system. HST is continuing with inspections and cost saving
initiatives .
R. Lawton mentioned that he was impressed with the significant reductions in the budget.
H. Swiniarski confirmed .
A roll call vote was taken to approve the FY2018 Budget as submitted:

New Business :
D . Schropfer mentioned Sheila Vanderhoff is retiring after 25 years . Jackie Beebe of Westport, MA is a strong
candidate to take her place .

Public comment:
R. Jones mentioned that he had a message from the Brewster Men' s Club and they love Paula George .
M . Ells made a motion to adjourn the meeting, R. Jones seconded, approved unanimously.
