Ruark (GR), Eric Bernsee, Stacie Langdon,Joanna Muncie (JM), Cathy Merrell (CM) Guests: Lori

Call to order- by Cathy at 6:08pm
Introduction of Ashley Crady, new Recreational Program Coordinator

Minutes from July: Motion to approve by Doug 2nd by Cathy Passed 3-0
Claims from July: Motion to approve Joanna Second: DH, passed 3-0
New Business
• Lori Mitchell—participate .n?obilizedrecoverydayofservic_e.com -Jaycee Park cleanup
Purpose: to bring people together. Recovery can happen and the event can be for those seeking
assistance. Time: 9am-12pm -#of participants: 5-15 so far. Provide NARCAN. Lori thought there
was a box at Jaycee Park. Pretty sure there is not. Motion to approve by Cathy 2nd by Joanna
Passed 3-0
• HWC Water and Land Resources: Offering to maintain Jaycee Park Lake with chemicals in order
to keep the lake free of algae, grass, and other floating materials. Cost is $800/month beginning
in 2024 for 10 months. No motion at this time. For future business.
• Maddie Landry. Greg read a proposal to host an 5K at Big Walnut Sports Park. Proceeds for CPR
courses and AED equipment, sponsored by PCH.
Motion to approve: by Doug with a stipulation(s) of crosswalk monitors at all dangerous
crossovers. Insurance? Second: by Joanna 3-0
Old Business
• Drainage issue at BWSP - check on history of park and where lines may be. Check with ASA?
Joe Custis has marked it off to make people aware. Potential cost is above $10,000. GR to follow up with
Mayor Dory.
• Linda Patrick wanted Board to know about food van at September 30 Pickleball Tournament

• Potential of closing Splash Park due to weather conditions and cost of chemicals with such a small window
remaining. Splash Park was closed officially the day.
AC- Boo Bash at AC October 28, food trucks, antique tractors, possible hayride.
