AUTHORIZING YEAR 2008 ALLIANCE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
DOROUGH OF CARTERET AND THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX
'VHEREAS, the Illterlocal Services Act, N.J.S.AAOA-l et seq, encourages
counties and municipalities to enter into interlocal contracts for the joint provision
of services in order to effectuate economies in govemment costs to help reduce
local property taxes; and provide legal authority and procedures to effectuate such
agreements; and
WHEREAS, the County of Middlesex (the "County") and the Borough of Carteret
(the "Borough") are desirous of entering into such an interlocal services agreement
to provide alcoholism and drug abuse prevention and education services to
Middlesex County residents who are also residents of the Borough of Carteret; and
'VHEREAS, pursuant to said agreement, the County is. willing to provide the
Borough the SU111 of $21,549.00 from a tmst account established with State grant
funds; and
'VHEREAS, the Count y and the Borough are authorized to enter into the above
described agreement without public advertisement for bids for the same pursuant
to NJ.S.A. 40A:11-5(2); and
'YHEREAS, in accord with N.J.S.AAO:8A-4, said proposed contract is available
and open to public inspection at the office of the Carteret :tvlunicipal Clerk,
Calieret Municipal Building, 61 Cooke Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey, between the
hours of8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret as follows:
1. That the Year 2008 Alliance Agreement between the County of
Middlesex and the Borough of Carteret for a period of one (1) year
from January 1, 200g. to December 31,2008
2. That the Mayor and Borough Clerk are authorized to execute the Year
2008 Alliance Agreement.
3. That the original and three (3) copies of the executed year 2008
Alliance Agreement with the Borough seal affixed thereto, shall be
forwarded to the Middlesex County Alliance Coordinator and a copy of
the same shall be fonvarded to the Carteret Alliance Coordinator.

certified as a tme copy of the original
on July 27,2007.
