RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT
FOR LEGAl. SERVICES WITH HELMER, STOWELL & GELFAND, P.A.
WIIEREAS, on September 2, 1999, the Governing Body of thc Borough of Carteret
passed Resolution No. 99-293, amending Resolution No. 99-33, authorizing a
Professional Services Contract with Helmet, Stowell, & Gelfand, P.A., for the provision
of spccializcd legal services; and
WItEREAS, pursuaut to said contract the afore~ncntioned laxv firm has been providing
legal scrvices in various matters including Borough of Carteret v. Dennis J. Nagy;
Borough ofCarterct v. David Csimbok; and CaldwelI v. Carteret; and
WIIEREAS, it is nccessary to increase the authorization provided for pursuant to
Resolution No. 99-293 in an additional amount not to exceed $10,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certificd that funds are availablc for the
same.
NOg'*", THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council o£the Borough
of Carterct as follows:
1. An increase in the authorization for legal services provided for by
Resolution No. 99-293 in an amount not to exceed $10,000.00, is
hereby approved.
2. All legal services to bc provided to the Borough by the
a£orementioncd law fim~ pursuant to this authorization must be
approved by the Borough Attorney.
3. The authorization provided for herein is approved without compctitive
bids, nor the solicitation of competitive price quotes in accordance
with State Law as an award of a Professional Services Contract.
4. Notice of this award shall be advertised as required by law.
