RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A HEARING FOR A SUPPLEMENTAL ASSESSMENT ON THE HUNTER DRIVE SOUTH STREET IMPROVEMENT WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on the 1st day of May, 1984, in the City Council Chambers of the City of Medina, at 8:00 p.m., at which time the Council considered and ordered the improvement of Hunter Drive South, said improvement consisting of grading, base, and asphalt surfacing of the said street and to assess the benefited property for all or a portion of the cost thereof; WHEREAS, on the .,-;5"\ day of (0--e 4e-4-.‘d , 1984, the City Coun- cil held a public hearing and adopted the assessment roll for the said improvement; WHEREAS, the property belonging to A. Skidmore Thorpe was in- cluded in all calculations for the improvement but Mr. Thorpe was not given mailed notice of either of the public hearings; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MEDINA, MINNESOTA: 1. The bid price and the estimated additional costs of making the improvement is $195,046.70, and the expenses for engineering, administrative and legal costs is $25,356.07 incurred or to be incurred in the making of the improvement, so that the total cost of the improvement project is $220,402.77. 2. The portion of the cost of such improvement to be paid by the City is hereby declared to be $60,000.00 and the portion of the costs to be assessed against the benefited property owners is declared to be $160,402.77. 3. The City Clerk/Treasurer, with the assistance of the consulting engineer, has calculated the proper amount to be specially asses- sed for such improvement against every assessible lot, piece or parcel of land within the district effected, without regard to cash valuation, as provided by law, and a copy of such proposed assessment is filed in the office of the City Clerk/Treasurer for public inspection; that the amount to be specially assessed against the property owned by the said A. Skidmore Thorpe is $ ,•, 00. 0C, 4. That a hearing will be held on the 4 day of ber,?,Yl 6, r, , 1984, at 8:00 p.m. in the City Hall at 2052 County Road 24, to pass upon the proposed assessment of the property of A. Skidmore Thorpe and at such time and place the said A. Skidmore Thorpe will be given an opportunity to be heard with reference to the said assessment. 5. The City Clerk/Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to cause a notice of the said hearing on the supplemental assess- ment to be published once in the official newspaper at least two weeks prior to the hearing and the Clerk/Treasurer shall state in the notice the total cost of the improvement. The Clerk/Treasurer is further authorized and directed to mail to the said A. Skidmore Thorpe a notice of the said supplemental assessment hearing not less than two weeks prior to the said hearing.
