A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR
OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES TO SUMMARIZE
AND SUBMIT COMMENTS RELATIVE TO IMPROVEMENT
ALTERNATIVES TO THE I-710 FREEWAY CORRIDOR
WHEREAS, The I-710 Freeway Corridor (the Corridor) consists of the I-710 Freeway,
interchanges, on/off ramps and mayor arterials connected to or parallel the freeway; and
WHEREAS, the Corridor is the principal backbone for mobility within the Los Angeles
County and Southern California region; and
WHEREAS, numerous studies previously conducted by Caltrans and other public agencies
have identified various deficiencies of the Corridor that have a negative impact on the mobility
and economic growth of the region, and
WHEREAS,, the Major Investment Study conducted by the Gateway Cities Council of
Governments (GCCOG) m 2000 has identified certain improvement alternatives to the Corridor;
and
WHEREAS, the Oversight Policy Committee of GCCOG is requesting affected local
agencies' comments relative to said alternatives.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
determine, order and resolve as follows•
Section 1. That the Director of Environmental Services is authorized to summarize and
submit the City of Lynwood's comments on the improvement alternatives to the Oversight Policy
Committee '
Section 2 That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
