j ~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
' LYNWOOD APPROVING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO.
2002-02, AMENDING THE GENERAL PLAN LAND USE
DESIGNATION FROM TRANSPORTATION TO MULTI-
FAMILY RESIDENTIAL, PERTAINING TO PROPERTY
LOCATED ON THE NORTH SIDE OF JOSEPHINE STREET,
BETWEEN ATLANTIC AVENUE AND POPE STREET,
ASSESSOR PARCEL NUMBERS 6189-019-056 AND 057,
CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council, pursuant to law, held a public hearing on
July 2, 2002; and
WHEREAS,~the Lynwood City Council has carefully considered all public oral and
written testimony offered at the public hearing; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council has determined that residential use of this
property would be consistent with the goals and policies set forth in the Lynwood
General Plan; and

~~ WHEREAS, the Community Development Department has determined that the

proposal will not have a negative effects on the environment, and is categorically
exempt from the California Environmental Qualify Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section
15303(b).
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and
determines as follows:
A. AMulti-Family Residential General Plan land use designation of this property
would be compatible with surrounding land uses.
6. The subject property can accommodate the project due to its size, location and
proximity to other residential land uses. The project would satisfy all
development standards except rear yard setback area.
C. The General Plan Amendment to Multi Family Residential would be consistent
with the goals and policies of the Lynwood General Plan.
D. The General Plan Amendment will not be detrimental to the properties in the
`;; vicinity of the project and would not negatively impact the public health, safety
~, ,i, or general welfare.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood based upon the
aforementioned findings and determinations, hereby approves General Plan Amendment
No. 2002-02 and amends the General Plan land use designation for this property from
Transportation to Multi-Family Residential.
Section 3. A copy of this resolution shall be delivered to the applicant.
