A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO
ACCEPT THE FISCAL YEAR 2002 LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK
GRANT AWARD FROM THE US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, ALLOCATE
$24,713 FROM THE GENERAL FUND OR OTHER SOURCES TO MEET THE
CASH MATCH REQUIREMENT, AND TO ORGANIZE THE LOCAL LAW
ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT ADVISORY BOARD

WHEREAS, The Omnibus .Fiscal Year 2002 Appropriations Act, provides funds for the
implementation of the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant (LLEBG) Program, and
WHEREAS, The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), US Department of Justice
administers the LLEBG Program, and
WHEREAS, The purpose of the LLEBG Program is to provide funds to units of local
government fo underwrite projects to reduce crime and improve public safety; and
WHEREAS, The LLEBG requirements include a 90% cash match from the City,
formation of an advisory board, and a public hearing
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY DECLARE, DETERMINE, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:

Section 1. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to carry out any
necessary transactions as so ordered by this resolution
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the City Manager to accept the FY 2002
Local Law Enforcement Block. Grant Award from the US Department of Justice
~` ~ Section 3. That the City Council authorizes the allocation of $24,713 from the
general fund or•other sources to provide the cash match requirements
Section 4. That the City Council authorizes he City Manager to form a Local Law
Enforcement Block Grant Advisory Board.
Section 5. That this resolution takes effect immediately upon adoption.
