RESOLUTION NO. 99-20
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
TRUCKEE AUTHORIZIN'G THE TOWN ENGINEER TO SUBMIT
AN APPLICATION FOR TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT
ACTIVITIES PROGRAM FUNDING FROM THE NEVADA
COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee wishes to increase the width of Donner Pass Road to 32 feet; and
WItEREAS, the increased width would serve the dual purpose of providing a bicycle lane in the
summer and a paved shoulder for automobile traffic in the winter; and
WHEREAS, staff believes that the additional cost to develop the increased width is justified in the
interest of public safety and in the long-term interest of implementing the yet to be adopted Town-wide trails
master plan; and
WHEREAS, staff is also recommending that the Truckee River Recreational Trail from the
Downtown area to Glenshire be submitted for funding;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF TRUCKEE, hereby authorizes the Town Engineer to submit the Donner Pass Road bicycle lane project
and the Truckee River Recreational Trail project to the Nevada County Transpo~ation Commission (NCTC)
for funding consideration through the Transportation Enhancement Activities (TEA) program and to execute
all documents regarding the submittal.
The foregoing Resolution was introduced at a Regular Meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Truckee,
held on the 15th day of April, 1999, by Councilmember Drake who moved its adoption, which motion being
duly seconded by Councilmember McCormack and was upon roll call passed by the following vote:

Councilmembers Drake, Florian, McCormack, Schneider & Mayor Susman
