Stronger Together 8 December 6, 2012 Steve Magoon SE1UDirector of Community Development and Planning Town of Watertown 149 Main Street SERVICE EMPLOYEES Watertown MA 02472 INTERNATIONAL UNION RE: Change of hours CTW,CLC Dear Mr. Magoon: I am writing to ask you to consider a change in hours for the Electrical Inspector, Plumbing Inspector, and the Building Inspector. The Plumbing Inspector and Building Inspector currently work 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, and the Electrical Inspector works 8:30 AM- 1:30 PM Monday- Friday I am asking that you consider changing the work schedule for the Plumbing Inspector and the Building Inspector to 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and the Wire Inspector from 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM. The 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM schedule is more closely aligned with the schedule that most contractors work. Most contractors begin their day at 7:00 AM which results in a one and one half hour period of down time in the morning while the contractors wait for an inspector to arrive. The Principal Account Clerk's hours for the Inspectors office will remain 8:30-5:00 Monday through Friday The contractors and residents would benefit from the changing of hours, as the job is able to move forward without delays and the inspectors are allowed to make better use of their time. This change would appear to be a win win situation for all involved. It is understood the above mentioned change in hours would be for a trial period and can be rescinded at the sole discretion of the Town Manager Thank you for your consideration of this proposal. 529 Main street Sincerely, Suite 222 Lori Moran Charlestown,MA 02129 SEUI Local 888 Telephone:617.241.3300 Chapter Chair Fax:617.241.5150 Watertown Town Hall Associates www.seiu888.org Cc: Michael Driscoll, Town Manager From: Maaoon.Steven To: Hand.JoAnna Subject: FW: Inspection services various Towns Date: Thursday,March 07,2013 2:06:35 PM -----Original Message----- From: Thompson, Kenneth Sent: Wednesday, August 22, 2012 8:41 AM To: Magoon, Steven Cc: Danis, Dorothy; MacDonald, John; David Farrar Subject: Inspection services various Towns Arlington (Building Inspectors 3) Inspector 8-9 office work office open 9-4, 1/2 hour lunch Inspectors off clock 400 Salem 730-800 office time office open 800-430, 1/2 hour lunch Inspectors off clock 400 Peabody (Inspectors 3) Same as Salem (Inspectors 3) Danvers (Inspectors 3 1/2) 730-830 office time office opens 830-430 1/2 hour lunch Inspectors off clock 400 Lexington (Inspectors 2 1/2) 730-830 office time office opens 830-430 1/2 hour lunch Inspectors off clock 400 Natick (Inspectors 3) 730-800 office time office opens 800-430 1/2 hour lunch Inspectors off clock 400 Belmont (Inspectors 3 ) 730-800 office time Office opens 800-430 1/2 hour lunch Inspectors off clock 430 Suggested Watertown: Inspectors Office would open at 730 (For the benefit of contractors) B I ,Plumbing and Electrical Inspectors would be present and at 830 Dorothy would start as usual.
