THRASHER Town Clerk RRA LTAYLOR Many of Gulf Stream residents own and enjoy a golf cart. Our community provides the perfect environment for their use. Unfortunately, there have been several alarming occurrences observed. We therefore felt the need to remind everyone of the regulation attached to the use of golf carts. Children operating a golf cart This should not be encouraged nor allowed by parents. This may seem a fun thing to do; however, it can create a critical situation in a very short time causing harm to your child and perhaps others. The State Law prohibits children under 14 years of age from operating a golf cart. Driving an unlicensed golf cart on AlA Operating an unlicensed golf cart on AIA, although a convenience, is both a safety concern and is illegal. This use should immediately be discontinued. Using a golf cart to exercise vour pet The Town Code provides that all pets, when not on their own property, must be under mechanical restraint with the leash being no longer than 8 feet. This applies whether being exercised along the side of a golf cart or bicycle, or being walked. Please consider the difficulty of controlling a pet while safely operating a vehicle. The Town Commission asks for your immediate cooperation by discontinuing inappropriate and unsafe use of golf carts within our Town. Thank you ^ V V l rA Allam F.
