LandTek's Synthetic Turf Mter Sales Service Program
Overview
It is recommended that every synthetic turf field installed follow the following petiodic
maintenance in order to maintain optimum playing condition. This section will describe
each feature of the program. Qualified personnel perform all work. The after sales service
crews consist of at least one certified installer.
Features of the After Sales Service Program
The following list will describe each component of a maintenance service visit. These
procedures are followed with each visit, and are standard to all service agreements.
OVERALL FIELD ANALYSIS - When the maintenance crew arrives on site, one person
will evaluate key areas around the f1!ed to make sure they are within the acceptable standards.
The qualified individual will note any findings on a check sheet. These areas include but are
not limited to - seam separation, infill migration, wear spots, drainage problems, paint
condition, edging condition, UV degradation, fiber fibrillation analysis, and any inlays built
into the field.
SWEEP FIELD WITH HYDRAULIC SWEEPER TO REMOVE DEBRIS - One person
will sweep the entire surface with the specially designed hydraulic sweeper attached to the
three-point hitch on a tractor. This will remove the debris (hair, leaves, loose gum, cigarette
butts, ect.) from the field.
NIAIU<:: AND FIll ANY DIVOTS WITH EXTRA INFIll- While one person is
sweeping the field, another person will add additional infill to the spots that were marked as
being low from the initial field analysis. These areas are usually the soccer goalmouths,
penalty kick dots, and corner kick areas, but can be elsewhere too.
AGITATE IN FIll WITH RT GROOMER- (If Necessary) Once the field is free from
debris and the low spots are filled, one person will groom the field to agitate the infill and
stand up the fibers. This is achieved by pulling.an RT Groomer behind the tractor in
various directions around the field.
DRAG FIELD WITH DRAG rvIAT TO REMOVE STATIC CHARGE - (If NecessalY) If
it is dry or hot outside, static from the tractor tires will be visible on the field after the
sweeping and grooming. To remove these tracks, the crew will simply pull a drag mat
behind the tractor once the rest of d,e field maintenance is complete.
IMPACT TESTING - (Optional & not included in the pricing below) LandTek will test
your athletic field accorcling to industry standards to evaluate the firmness of the playing
surface. A formal report and analysis is generated back to the customer.
Scheduling the Service Agreement
The first scheduled service visit should be performed approximately SL'{ (6) months after the
initial installation. Maintenance visits are weather permitting. The LandTek employee
scheduling the visit with the customer will request the owner's presence to observe each step
of the process. The crew leader will demonstrate the process to the customer and answer
any questions they may have while on site.
Overall Field Analysis is important because if anything out of the orclinary happening to
the field, like vandalism or drainage problems, it should be noted and fIXed as soon as
possible. The crew will also determine if the field needs to be painted, this can be scheduled
with ample time before the next game. Filling Divots with Extra Infill is important
because if areas of the field have infill migration, like penalty kick areas, they need to be
taken care of as soon as possible. Agitating the Infill with an RT Groomer is important
so the infill maintains its original consistency and feel. This also lifts up the fibers and helps
level the infill throughout the field. This process is recommended more frequently with
fields that get continuous use.
