As you know, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be resurfacing and
adding shoulders to SR Al within our municipal boundaries within the next several
months. In addition, that portion of the SR AIA from Golfview Road to Pelican Lane
will have construction to install a new water main. FDOT has informed the Town that
driveways with either paver bricks or stamped concrete within five (5) feet of the edge of
pavement that are removed during construction must be replaced with asphalt. In
essence, once the paver bricks or stamped concrete are removed, that portion of the
driveway from the edge of roadway back five feet (5) must be resurfaced with asphalt.
Since this area is FDOT right-of-way, FDOT has the final "word" as to the type of
replacement material.
