CALL TO ORDER
The September 14, 2007, "Brown Bag" Work Session was convened at 12:07 P.M. by
Mayor John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Brown, Crane (arrived at 12:10 P.M.), Harvey, Klindt, Koon, Medin,
Penfold, and Smith
Absent: Ferguson and Layton
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Budget Committee meetings: City Administrator Steve Rasmussen distributed proposed
dates for the remainder of the budget committee meetings and asked the Council members
to let him know if any dates were a problem. He stated at this juncture, they may have to
have meetings even if one or two Council members can't attend a meeting to make sure the
budget gets completed on time. Councilman Rich Koon suggested having one long meeting
and just continue until the work is all done, even if it means going until very late in the
evening.
Appointments: Mayor John Landwehr discussed the need to get correct names placed on
the Conference Center Selection Committee and asked Staff to prepare whatever was
needed to do that for Monday night.
2007 -87 (digital dictation system): Councilman Jim Penfold asked for a total of what it
would have cost if the City had selected the Nelson bid.
2007 -87 (contract with JCTV): Councilman Kevin Brown asked staff to provide information
about what it took to cause the existing EAS interrupt to happen on JCTV as it exists today.
Councilman Brian Crane wanted to find out if JCTV could be made available on avenues
other than through Mediacom.
