A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AWARDING
A CONTRACT TO SULLY-MILLER CONTRACTING COMPANY AS THE APPARENT
LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER, IN THE AMOUNT OF $434,100 FOR THE
STOCKWELL DRIVE, BENWELL DRIVE, CARSON DRIVE, LILITA STREET AND Le
SAGE STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, PROJECT NUMBER 4011.67.893, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the Stockwell Drive, Benwell Drive, Carson Drive, Lilita Street and
Le Sage Street Improvement Project is scheduled for completion during fiscal year (FY)
2009-2010, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood adopted the plans,
specifications and working details for the Stockwell Drive, Benwell Drive, Carson Dnve,
Lilita Street and Le Sage Street Improvement Project on December 15, 2009, and
Public Works staff advertised the project on December 31, 2009 and on January 7,
2010, and
WHEREAS, seventeen (17) contractors received project plans and contract
documents, and
WHEREAS, the bid opening took place in the Office~of the City C~lerk~on`January
28, 2010, and thirteen (13) contractors submitted bids, and ,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works /City Engineer has ascertained that
Sully-Miller Contracting Company is the lowest responsible bidder at $434,100 for the
total of Unit Price 'Bid Schedule "A", and
WHEREAS, a reference check has revealed that this contractor, Sully-Miller
Contracting Company, has the necessary experience and contractor's license for this
type of project, and
WHEREAS, the project budget is adequate to fund the Stockwell Drive, Benwell
Drive, Carson Drive, Lilita Street and Le Sage Street Improvement Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the contract for the Stockwell Drive, Benwell Drive, Carson
Drive, Lilita Street and Le Sage Street Improvement Project, Project No 4011 67 893,
be awarded to Sully-Miller Contracting Company for the lowest bid of $434,100 for the
total of Unit Price Bid Schedule "A"
Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the agreement
between the City Council of the City of Lynwood and Sully-Miller Contracting Company,
approved as to form by the City Attorney
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution
