AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE LAUREL STREET IMPROVEMENTS
'VHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret ("Borough") authorized the preparation of bid
specifications and contract documents and advertisement for receipt of bids for the Laurel Street
Improvements; and
'VHEREAS, the Borough has previously received bids for said project on June 15,2007; and
'VHEREAS, Star of the Sea Concrete, Marlboro, New Jersey submitted the lowest bid for said
work as evidence by the' response on file with the Borough's Purchasing Department and
Borough's Consulting Engineer for the Project as follows:
BASE BID
Star of the Sea Concrete $108,551.00
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer, T & M Associates, has reviewed the above
referenced bid proposal(s) and has recommended an award of a contract for the Base Bid; and
'VHEREAS, the Borough's Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be
available for the award of a contract for said work.
NO'" THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret, County of Middlesex and State of New Jersey as follows:
1. That the Borough hereby awards the bid for the Laurel Street Improvements to
Star of the Sea Concrete, Marlboro, New Jersey, in the amount of $108,551.00
. for the Base Bid.
2. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized and directed to
enter into a contract with Star of the Sea Concrete for the Laurel Street
Improvements in the amount of $108,551.00 and in accordance in all respects
with the request for proposals and bid on the same.
3. That a copy of this Resolution shaIl be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing
Department and T & M Associates for distribution to Star of the Sea Concrete.

and certified as a true copy of the
original on August 24, 2007.
