A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY ~
. OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR.
THE STATE, ENERGY RESOURCE CONSERVATION
AND DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION BATTERY BACKUP •,
SYSTEM GRANTAND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE ALL
- NECESSARY DOCUMENTS.ASSOCIATED WITH ,

' WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Resource Code Section 25403 8, the•State Energy
Resources Conservation and Development Commission (Energy Commission) is autliorized to
provide grants to ~city, county or city and county governrnents for battery backup s,ystems for
traffic signals; and ~
~ WHEREAS, in order to be eligible for fundmg,.the battery backup system must be
used in con~unction with light ernitting diode traffic signals. ~ , '
~ NOW, THEREFORE, .the City Council' of the City of Lynwood does hereby find, ~
` proclaim, order and resolve as follows '
Section 1 Staff is authorized to apply far funding from the California Energy
Commission for Battery Backup Systems operating wrth light emitting diode traffic signals.
° Section 2. If recommended for funding by the Califorma Energy Commission
the City Manger or his designee is authorized to accept a grant~up to $57,050 00 on behalf of the.
City of Lynwood. ~ ~ ~

Section 3. The City Manager or liis designee is hereby autharized~to execute all
necessary..documents to implement and earry'o.ut~the purpose of this resolution and to undertake
all actions necessary to complete the energy efficiency project `

Section 4 This resolution shall take effect.immediately upon its adoption.
