.A RESOLUTION OF THE CITYfCOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
.AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF THIRTEEN THOUSAND ONE ~
~--IUNDRED AND SIXTY - THREE DOLLARS FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED
iiENERAL FUND BALANCE FOR THE 2002 FIESTAS PATRIAS PROGRAM
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood regularly conducts events to honor the various
cultures that.make up the City of ~Lynwood; and ~
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood annually conducts an event to commemorate
t:he independence days of various Latin Amencan Countries; and
•-- WHEREAS, This event 1s known as Fiestas Patrias; and ~
WHEREAS,,A Committee has been developed with members made up of various
c>rganizations, businesses, agencies as well as concerned citizens to plan the event for
~ 002; and

• WHEREAS, the Committee is chaired' by Mayor Pro Tem Fernando Pedroza; and
' WHEREAS, the Commrttee is developing an exciting three - day program to
~. .rnclude; a professional carnival, food and game booths, entertainment as well as a parade;
and '
WHEREAS, the Committee has determined fhat the tentative cost of the program
is greater than the funds that were earma.rked as a part of the proposed 2002/2003 fiscal
~ ~~udget; and '
WHEREAS, the Committee has detennine that the cost of the program will likely
`l~e very" similar to that wh~ch was expended on the program for 2Q01.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the ~City of Lynwood does hereby find,
~ ~.~roclairri, order and resolve the followrng:

, Section 1. The City 1Vlanager or his designee rs authorized to`carryout any
n,ecessary transactions as so ordered by this resolution. ,
, Section 2. That a fund appropriation in the amount of thirteen thousand one
~ hundred and sixty = three dollars be allocated from the unappropnated general fund
~ balance in the following fashion: ~

Section 3. ~ This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
