A RESOLUTION OF TH~ CI'I'Y COiJNCIL
OF TH[E CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
TH~ ALLOCATION OF 2002 LOCAL LAW
ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT ~'UNDS
WHEREAS, The Omnibus Fiscal Year 2002 Appropriations Act, provides funds
-- For the implementation of the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant (LLEBG) Program to
t~ , ,~rovide .funds to units of local government to underwrite projects to reduce crime and
~°` improve public safety; and ~
WHEREAS, On July 2, 2002 the Lynwood City Council adopted Resolution
,~ ?_002 100 authorizing the acceptance of the award, aliocating the cash match and
authorizing the formation of a LLEBG Advisory Board, and
WHEREAS, The LLEBG Advisory Board on July 24, 2002 reviewed the proposed,
allocation of the 2002 LLEBG funds and recommended the funds be allocated to hiring
i:hree Motorcycle Officers, and
WHEREAS, -The Lynwood City Council conducted a public hearing on August 20,
2002 to receive comments on the proposed use of LLEBG fiunds;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, STATE t7F
S~ALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY DEGLARE, DETERMINE, ORDER, AND P2ESOLVIE AS
FOLLOWS: ~
Section 1. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to carry out any
necessary transactions as so ordered by this resolution
.Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the following allocations of the
2002 LLEBG funds, Cash Match, and Interest: ~
Section 3. That the City Council authorize the City Manager to obligate 2002 Law
Enforcement Block Grant Funds, Cash Match, and Interest within the defined Purpose
Area 1 Supporting the hiring, training, and employing of additional law enforcement
officers and necessary support personnel on a continuing basis not exhausted by the end
of the grant term to expedite expenditures and prevent compromising the funds
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 20th, day of August, 2002
