Thank you for your letter of December 22 and your contribution to the Holiday
Fund. Your interest in Town employees is appreciated.
Just recently, the Town Commission decided to send newsletters on a more
regular basis. I will mention to them your suggestion that employees of the Town be
identified. In addition, I will pass your letter along to Mr. Velie for consideration by the
Civic Association for any future letters they may be contemplating.
Listed below are the current employees of the Town. Please be advised that we
have two vacancies in the Police Department that, if filled, would bring us to a total of 15.

In addition to our employees on staff, the Town contracts out for a variety of
specialty services. These include: general legal services (John Randolph of Jones,
Foster, Johnson & Stubbs, P.A.); general engineering services (Shalloway, Foy, Raymond
& Newell, Inc.); fire and EMS services (City of Delray Beach); solid waste removal and
recycling services (County Sanitation, Inc.); and water system maintenance services

(Harvel Utility Construction, Inc.). The Town Commission approves all contracts which
are administered by Town staff. If you have any problems or questions about these
services, please contact the Town Hall.
The current Town Commissioners are listed at the top of the first page. The
Commissioners serve concurrent, 3 -year terms and receive no salary or benefits. The
next scheduled election is March 1996.
The Commission holds at least one meeting every month, usually on the second
Friday at 9:00 AM in the Town Hall. All residents of Gulf Stream are encouraged to attend
these meetings as well as those held by the Architectural Review and Planning Board
(ARPB). The ARPB also meets once a month, usually on the fourth Wednesday at 9:00
AM at the Town Hall. The ARPB consists of volunteer residents appointed by the
Commission to review larger development plans and make a recommendation to the
Commission.
