Please be advised an election will be held on March 9, 1993, to select five Town
Commissioners for the Town of Gulf Stream. An election is necessary whenever more
than five candidates seek office - something that has not happened in Gulf Stream since
the late 1970s.
Voting will take place at the Town Hall from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Please bring your Voter
Registration Card or some other form of identification bearing your signature with you to
the polls. If you are unable to vote at the Town Hall on election day, you may obtain an
absentee ballot by contacting Rita Taylor, Town Clerk, at the Town Hall.
Enclosed is a sample ballot listing all seven candidates in alphabetical order. You may
vote for up to five candidates. The five candidates receiving the most votes will fill the
five, 3 -year positions on the Commission.
The newly elected Commission will be seated at a special meeting on March 12, 1993,
at noon. At the following regular meeting, tentatively scheduled for April 12, the
Commission will appoint two of its members to serve as Mayor and Vice Mayor.
