CALL TO ORDER
A City Council Work Session was called to order at 5:00 P.M. on November 13, 2007 by
Mayor John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Brown ( *arrived at 5:08 P.M.), Ferguson, Klindt, Koon, Layton, Medin
(* *arrived at 5:09 P.M.), Penfold, and Smith
Absent: Crane and Harvey
A quorum was present.
BILLS INTRODUCED
Bill 2007 -109, sponsored by Councilman Klindt, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT TO TRANSFER CERTAIN
REAL PROPERTY BELONGING TO THE CITY TO THE COUNTY OF COLE FOR THE
PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING A JAIL.
Mayor John Landwehr explained the necessity of introducing the bill tonight to meet certain
time constraints by the county on the jail project.
DISCUSSION
Fire
Fire Chief Robert Rennick made a presentation regarding the fire vehicle replacement plan.
Following his presentation, he answered several questions asked by the Council. Mayor
John Landwehr asked for information on Sales Tax F if the allocation remained the same.
City Administrator Steve Rasmussen will try to get the information together to go out with
his weekly memo. Mayor John Landwehr also asked for data on how the central
maintenance occurs.
Transit
City Planner Janice McMillan made a presentation regarding the proposed change in the
transfer point to the East Miller Street transit facility location. She demonstrated how the
new proposed routes would be established if the transfer point is at Miller Street. Mayor
John Landwehr asked staff to look at whether the changing the half -hour route to a 1 -hour
route could result in offering a new route to another location.
