A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD AWARDING A CONTRACT TO BEN'S ASPHALT
4~~ INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $568,615.00 FOR THE SAN JOSE
~ STREET, CARLIN AVENUE AND PLATT AVENUE,
! IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, PROJECT NUMBER OS-5253 AND 5-
5261 AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE
AGREEMENT".
WHEREAS, the San Jose Street, Carhn Avenue, and Platt Avenue, Street
Improvement Pro~ect, Pro~ect No.05-5253 & 5-5261 is scheduled for completion dunng
the FY 2002-2003; and
WHEREAS, the San Jose Street, Carlm Avenue, arid Platt Avenue, Street
Improvement Pro~ect is funded by CDBG Funds, and
WHEREAS, the bid openmg was held on October 2, 2002, and Ben's Asphalt Inc
was the apparent lowest bidder at $568,615.00; and
WHEREAS, a reference check has revealed that this contractor has the necessary
expenence for this type of pro~ect. ~
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
proclaim, order and resolve as follows•
~ Section 1. That the contract for the San Jose Street, Carlin Avenue, and Platt

'--- Avenue, Street Improvement Pro~ect, Pro~ect Number OS-5253 & 5-5261 be awarded to
Ben's Asphalt Inc., for rts low bid of $568,615.00
Section 2. That the Mayar is hereby authorized to execute the agreement
between the City of Lynwood and Ben's Asphalt Inc.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 15`h day of October 2002.
