A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD SETTING THE MONTHLY STIPEND
FOR COMMISSION AND BOARD MEMBERS
IDENTIFIED IN THE LYNWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE AT $50
WHEREAS, Section _36506 of the State of California Government Code along
~ with Section 2-12 1(b) of the Lynwood Municipal Code authorizes the City Council to set
',~; the compensation of Commission and Board Members by resolution or ordinance, and
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood currently has nine functioning Commissions
and Boards with varying membership numbers identified in the Lynwood Municipal
Code, and
WHEREAS, In general, the role of these members is to serve as an advisory
body to the City Council, and
WHEREAS, On October 23, 2002, the Mayo~ and Members of the Lynwood
City Councii, approved an agenda item approving the increase in monthly stipend for
Commission and Board Members identified in the Municipal Code from $25 to $50, to
bring back a resolution ratifying the increase and include.the increase in the FY 02-03
operating budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE,
DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to carry out any
necessary transactions as so ordered by this resolution
SECTION 2. That the monthly stipend for Commission and Board Members
identified in the Lynwood Municipal Code be set at $50 effective the month of November
2002
SECTION 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 5`h day of November, 2002
