A RESOLUTIUN OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO HAVE ANTI - CRUISING OPERATIONS. FOR THE
NEXT SIX WEEKS AND AUTHORIZING ADDITIONAL
APPROPRIAT'ION OF $48,000 FOR THESE SERVICES
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood is desirous to create and maintain a safe
a community; and
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood has been actively involved with the
County of Los Angeles Sheriff's Department in conducting Anti-Cruising
Operations, and
WHEREAS, The Sheriff's Department has recommended continuing these
operations for six weeks through the holiday season to deter the speeding,
fighting, drinking, and lewd conduct that occurs with the cruising activity; and
WHEREAS, Additional appropriations are necessary to carry out this
operation
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to carry out
any necessary transactions as so ordered by this resolution
Section 2. That the City Council authorize appropriation of $48,000 from
fihe unappropriated general fund to Account 01-4555-4230 to pay for Anti-Cruising
Operations
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 17th day of December, 2002.
