CALL TO ORDER
The January 18, 2008, "Brown Bag" Work Session was convened at 12:00 P.M. by
President Pro Tempore Kevin Brown in the absence of Mayor John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Brown, Crane, Ferguson, Klindt, Koon, Medin, Penfold, and Smith
Absent: Harvey and Layton
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Community Development Director Pat Sullivan announced that the city will be participating
in the HBA Home Show by having a booth on January 25 -27 at the YMCA.
City Administrator Steve Rasmussen announced that the annual Legislative Reception and
Whitton Expressway Study will both occur on Tuesday before the Council meeting. He
stated the City will have representation at both those events, but that they will have to leave
the Legislative Reception early due to the conflict with the City Council meeting.
2007 -149 (fire apparatus lease) - Councilman Kevin Brown announced that he plans to
withdraw this bill until the Council can get more information and have more discussion on
it.
2007 -146 and 2007 -147 (contracts for debris cleanup and monitoring) — City Administrator
Steve Rasmussen recommended that these be moved to the Informal Calendar on Tuesday
night in case some unforeseen circumstance would cause the City to have to activate either
of those contracts.
JCTV Steering Committee report - Mayor John Landwehr requested that the City Clerk
add to item 19(a) a report to be given by Councilman Brian Crane on the status of the JCTV
Steering Committee.
