~. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
' CITY OF L.YNWOOD AUTHORIZING TME CITY MANAGfR
' TO SUBMIT A FINAL PROPOSAL FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
~ ~ AGENCY BROWNFIELDS ASSESSMENT GRANT AND TO ~
~ EXECUTE ALL.DOCUMENTS RELATIVE TO THIS GRANT ~. ' ~

(~ , VI%MEREAS, In 1999, the City of Lynwood~ received the Environmental Protection
' Agency (EPA) Brownfields Demonstration Assessment Pilot Program Grant in the
amount of $200,000; and • ~ ~ , • .
VVHEREAS, The primary purpose of the grant is to be able to ch~aracterize and
assess environmental conditions at seleeted. sites and to put into place a plan for the city
or a potential developer to carry out any necessary cleanup activities; and
~', WHEREAS, Pursuant"to the Federal Brownfields Revitalization Act, fhe City of
• Lynwood subrnitted an initial proposal for the amount of $200,000 as part of the two-step
• grant application process; and
, `- V1/HEREAS, The City of Lynwood is desirous to submit a~final proposa! to
expand its-current Brownfields activities to additionaf sites where redevelopment
. . activities are anticipated and underway; and ~
. . WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood has undertaken efforts to ensure community`
_ involvement in formulating the final proposal including eonducting a public hearing.
. ~ 'NO1N, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
proclaim,.order and reso(ve as follows: •

_ Sect= The City Manager or his designee is authorized ~to~~carry out any
. necessary #ransactions, as so ordered by this resolution.

~---' - Section 2. ~ The City Manager. may submit to a proposal, to EPA for the
- 'Brownfields Assessment Granfi. ~
~ . Section '3. If the"proposal is selected for approval, the City is hereby
„ , authorized to enter into a grant agreeri~ent with EPA_and any other documents
,., -necessary for #he purposes set forth in the proposal and approved by EPA. ~

Section 4. This resolUtion shall take effect immediately upon its adoption: ,
