A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING STAFF TO NEGOTIATE FOR
CERTAIN NECESSARY RIGHT-OF-WAY, AND THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENTS AND
~~ , ACCEPT THE GRANT DEEDS FOR THE ACQUISITIONS
~~ ALONG SANBORN AVENUE BETWEEN LONG BEACH
BLVD. AND CALIFORNIA AVENUE

WHEREAS, the Sanborn Ave., Orchard Ave. and Walnut Ave. Improvement
Project, Project No. 5-5261 is schedule for construction during FY 2002-2003; and
WHEREAS, the sidewalk east of the first alley east of Long Beach Blvd. on the
north side of Sanborn Ave. is offset and not aligned with the sidewalk west of the alley; and
WHEREAS, additional right-of-way will allow for proper alignment of the
sidewalk, wheelchair ramps, curb and gutter; and
WHEREAS, said right-of-way acquisition is estimated to cost $6.500.00 and
funds are available in the Sanborn Ave., Orchard Ave. and Walnut Ave. Improvement Project
construction budget; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to complete this project and has determined
that the best interest of the City shall be served by acquiring said right-of-way.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Lynwood as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council authorizes staff to negotiate for the acquisition
of said right-of-way. ~
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the City Manger to execute the
agreements and accept the grant deeds for said right-of-way.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 18th day of March , 2003.
