• 4_ AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FROM THE 2003/2004
'~ , FISCAL YEAR DURING~THE 2002/2003 FISCAL YEAR CONDUCTION OF -
` THE 2003 UNITY FESTIVAL/JULY 4T" CELEBRATION
'. WHEREAS; the City of Lynwood desires to offer a program combining the Unity
- ~ Festival and the July 4th Fireworks Cetebration to be held on July 4`" 2003; and ~ .
~ ' I ~ ~ ~ " ,
,'~ ~. ~ WHEREAS, funding for the Unity Festival/July 4th Celebration inus~ be arranged
~ prior to the adoption of the 2~003/2004 fiscal year budget by the City Council; and ~
. ~ WHEREAS, the funding for the Unity Festival/July 4th Fireworks Celebration is ~
estimated,to cost $35,000,000; and ` ~ ~ ~
~~ WHEREAS, the funding for this program is traditionally included in the operating •
budget of the City of Lynwood on an annual basis. ~

° ~' NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find~, j
, proclaim, ord'er and resolve as follows: > •
~ ~ Section 1. The City Manager or liis designee is authorized to complete any
, transactions necessary to bring all issues addressed in this resolution to fruition. ~
' Section 2: The City Council authorizes funding in tfie amount of $35,000.00
,_ from the 2003/2004 fiscal budget to be encumbered for the Unity Festival/July 4th
Celebration during the 2002/2003 fiscal year. ~ ,
~~ ~~ Section 3. This resolution shall becQme effective imrnediately upon its adoption.
