A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE AND
ABANDON FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES A PORTION OF CHESTER
STREET, A PORTION OF COURT STREET, AND A PORTION
OF PLAZA STREET, IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
WHEREAS, that portion of Chester Street bounded by the easterly property line
of Lot 439, the southeasterly extension of the southerly property line of Lot 439, the centerline of
Chester Street, and the southeasterly extension of the northerly property line of Lot 439, as
shown on Tract No. 2551, in the City of Lynwood, County of Los Angeles, State of California,
Map Book 24, Pages78-80, in the office of the County Recorder of said County; and that portion
of Court Street and Plaza Street bounded by the northwesterly extension of the northerly right-of-
way line of Mulford Avenue, the centerline of Court Street (vacated) from Mulford Avenue to
the centerline of Plaza Street, the centerline of Plaza Street (vacated) from Court Street to the
southwesterly extension of the southerly property line of Lot 337, the easterly property line of
Lot 413, and the westerly property line of Lot 413, as shown on Tract No. 2551, in the City of
Lynwood, County of Los Angeles, State of California, Map Book 24, Pages 78-80, in the office
of the County Recorder of said County, are unnecessary for present or prospective public street
purposes; and , -
• WHEREAS, the public interest, necessity and convenience require tlie City
Council to vacate and abandon said streets; and
WHEREAS, said streets, as above described, are shown on the official map of the
City of Lynwood, at the office of the City Clerk of said City, to which all parties interested are
referred for particulars as to'the proposed vacation and abandonment; and
WHEREAS; the City Council elects to proceed in said vacation and
abandonment under Sectio`n 8300 to 8324, inclusive, of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California, as amended.
~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Lynwood as follows:
Section 1: That easements be retained for construction and maintenance of
necessary utility facilities within the limits of the street vacation as described herein above.
Section 2: That the City Clerk of fhe City of Lynwood is directed to give and '
post, as required by law, Notice of Passage of this Resolution of Intention, and give therein the
legal description of said streets proposed to be vacated and abandoned, and specify the time and
place of hearing of this Resolution of Intention, which is hereby fixed as follows:
The hearing to be, before the City Council of the City of Lynwood, at 11330
Bullis Road, in the City Council Chambers of the City of Lynwood at the hour of 6:00 p.m. on
May 6, 2003, at which tiine and place all persons interested may appear and object or protest to
the proposed vacation and abandonment of said streets. If the City Council finds from the
evidence submitted that the streets are unnecessary for present or prospective use, it may make
its order vacating all or part of the streets. ,
Section 3: This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS lst day of Apri 1 , 2003.
