Home My Public Portal About2003.062 (04-09-03)RESOLUTION NO. ~003.~62 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCFL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE INTERIM CITY MANAGER TO IMPLEMENT MODIFICATIONS TO THE ADOPTED FISCAL YEAR 2002=2003 BUDGET WHEREAS, on November 5, 2002 the City of Lynwood Adopted a Fiscal Year 2002-2003 Budget that included a reorganization of City staff with several personnel changes included position deletions, additions, and reclassifications; and WHEREAS, the Interim City Manager has reviewed the budget and is recommending several modifications to maintain organizational efficiency including the reinstatement of deleted positions, eliminating the Neighborhood Preservation Department, and implementing a new project and results driven organization. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, ORDER AND RfSOLVE AS FOLL"OWS: . Section 1. The City Council approves in concept staff's recommended reorganization and authorizes staff to commence the preparation of a two-year budget that includes this modification. Section 2. The City Council authorizes the Interim City Manager to make the following appointments at the following pay grades: " • Assistant City Manager (2) - 7OM ~ ^ Speciaf Assistant (2) - 65M ~ ~ ^ Director of `Environmental Services (1) - 65M Section 3. The City Council authorizes the lnferim City Manager to proceed with~closed promotional personnel recruitments as outlined in "Exhibit A" and retain the positions that have been filled with the exception of the Executive Assistant in the Neighborhood Preservalion Department and proceed with open recruitments as outlined in "Exhibit B". Section 4. The City Council authorizes ~the Intecim C,ity Manager to reinsfate positions that were deleted as part of the Fiscal Year 2002-2003 budget as oufilined in "Exhibit C". Section 5. Authorize the Interim City Manager fo review positions wherein retirement is. expected d~uring Fiscal Year 2003-2004 and determine whether or not the position should be filled or deleted during the budget year.
