HomeMy Public PortalAbout2003.064 (04-15-03)RESOLUTION NO. 2003.064 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ORDERING THE VACATION AND ABANDONMENT FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES OF A PORTION OF PEACH STREET AND~ A PORTION OF SANBORN AVENUE , IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood did, on the 18th day of March, 2003, adopted Resolution No. 2003-043, declaring its intention to vacate a portion of Peach Street and Sanborn Avenue; and WHEREAS, notices of said vacation have been posted in the time, farm, and manner required by law; and WHEREAS, a public hearing on the matter was held on the 15th day of April 2003, as prescribed by law. ~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood as follows: Section l. That the following described portions of street and alleys are unnecessary for present or prospective public use, and that the public interest, necessity and convenience require that the City Council of said City hereby order the vacation and abandonment of said streets: That portion of Peach Street bounded by the northerly right-of-way line of j . Fernwood Avenue (vacated) and the elongation of the centerline of Sanborn ____J Avenue, 40 feet wide; and the southerly half of Sanborn Avenue bounded by the easterly right-of-way line of Peach Street and the elongation of the easterly line of Lot 447, as shown on Tract 2551, in the City of Lynwood, County of Los Angeles, State of California, Map Book 24, Pages78-80 of maps in the office of the Los Angeles County Recorder. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby determine that the public convenience and necessity require that necessary easements be retained for construction and maintenance of utilities within the limits of said portions of streets as described in Section 1. • Section 3_ That the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood shall cause a certified copy of said order to be recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County. Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
