HomeMy Public PortalAbout1985-018Member /4 id/619-,a ry introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 85-18 RESOLUTION ORDERING PROJECT AND ACCEPTING BID ON RURAL INDUSTRIAL PARK WATER TRUNK IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for con- struction of a trunk water line, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the bids enumerated in the letter from Glenn Cook, dated March 5, 1985, attached hereto as Exhibit A, were received in compliance with the advertisement; and WHEREAS, it appears that W.G. Rehbein is the lowest respon- sible bidder; and WHEREAS, pursuant to resolution of the council adopted on the 5 KRL of reb,-uary, 1985, plans and specifications have been prepared by Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik & Associates, Inc. with reference to the improvement and these plans and specifications were received by the council on the 19th of February, 1985. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota as follows: 1. The mayor and city clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the attached contract with W.G. Rehbein in the name of the city of Medina for construction of the trunk water line according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the city council and on file in the office of the city clerk. 2. The city clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. 3. Such improvement is hereby ordered as proposed in the council resolution adopted , 1985. 4. Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik & Associates, Inc, is hereby designated as the engineer for the project. G. Rehbein has completed sewer and water projects for our firm in the past. We would recommend that the project be awarded to W. G. Page 1. 6375c rr N. City of Medina March 5, 1985 Hamel, MN Re: File No. 19008 Rural Industrial Park Rehbein for the base bid amount of $519,242.90. The base bid provides for the 16 inch trunk main. Alternate Bid 1 provides for the crossing of T.H. 55 at Arrowhead Drive to serve the Loram property. Representatives of Loram will be at the public hearing on March 13, 1985 to indicate if they want the crossing constructed as a part of this project. We have indicated that the assessment would be at least the amount of the crossing and would be established by the City Council. If you have any questions, please contact this office.
