HomeMy Public PortalAbout2003.075 (05-06-03)RESOLUTION NO. 2003.075 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD RECOMMENDING, AN AMENDMENT TO THE I LYNWOOD GENERAL PLAN LAND USE MAP DESIGNATION, `~--- PURSUANT TO GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 2003-01 FROM SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL TO MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL, PERTAINING TO PROPERTY LOCATED ON THE EAST SIDE OF PEACH STREET, NORTH OF FLOWER STREET, AND SOUTH OF THE I-105 (CENTURY) FREEWAY, FURTFiER DESCRIBED AS ASSESSOR PARCEL NUMBER 6171-013-050, TRACT 2551, LOTS 558, 559, 560 AND 563, CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood, pursuant to law, conducted a public hearing on May 6, 2003; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission ~ of the City of Lynwood, on April 8, 2003, pursuant to law, conducted a public hearing and approved the subject applications; and WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council carefully considered all public oral and written testimony offered at tfie public hearing; and . WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that a Multi-Family Residential Land ; , Use Map designation of this property would be consistent with the goals and policies of ~, the General Plan; and - WHEREAS, the Development Services Department has performed and Initial Study and determined that the proposal may have potentially significant impacts on the environment, however, mitigation measures have been incorporated in the project that would reduce potential significant impacts to a level of insignificance. A Negative Declaration has been prepared pursuant to the California Environmental Qualify Act (CEQA) Guidelines. Section 1. The City Council of the City of- Lynwood hereby finds and determines as follows: A. A Multi-Residential Land Use Map designation of this property would be compatible with surrounding land uses and zoning designations. B. The project would comply with all required development standards. C. The General Plan Amendment would be consistent with the goals and policies of the General Plan Land Use and Housing Elements. D. The General Plan Amendment, as conditioned, will not be detrimental to the properties surrounding the site, or the public health, safety and general welfare. Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood, 6ased upon the aforementioned findings and determinations, hereby approves General Plan Amendment No. 2003-01, amending the General Plan Land Use map designation for this property from Single-Family Residential to Multi-Family Residential. Section 3. A copy of this resolution shall be delivered to the applicant. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 6t" day of May, 2003.
