The intention behind this purchase was and is : • Keep the lot off the market to see if the Town ' s coastal planning included a desire to see the land used to support the use of Paine ' s Creek Beach , specifically for off-site parking , • Enable the BCT to retain some of the sensitive back land in a natural state and provide a vegetated privacy buffer to the neighbor to the north ; • Enable BCT to have permanent legal access to its nine ( 9 ) acre marsh front parcel and provide a public trailhead for it . Purchase of this parcel will also allow the Town to create a small parking lot ( 20 -25 spaces ) for beach parking , This would create the potential for a possible shuttle to Paine ' s Creek on a trial basis . Proposed parking lot would be of permeable material for obvious reasons .
