May 11, 1978
A Public Hearing was called to order at the Village Hall, Thursday,
May 11, 1978 at 9:30 A.M. for the purpose of discussing the proposed Business
District re —zoning. The meeting was recessed and reconvened in the auditorium
of the Church By The Sea at 9:40 A.M.
Bal Harbour Shops presented experts covering the original plan for the
shopping center as planned by the Graham family and later by the Whitman interests.
Mr. Whitman explained the model of the proposed expansion of the Center. Also
making presentations for the Center were specialists on traffic and polution, both
air and noise. Mr. Perry of the Sun Bank of Miami also questioned the consultants
retained by the village on the future status of the bank.
The meeting was recessed for lunch and reconvened at 2:10 P.M.
Further presentations were made for Bal Harbour Shops by experts
landscaping, and costs incurred to date on the parking deck structure.
Mr. Maley explained the original zoning and said the consultants
facts in order to upgrade the zoning of this district.

The Council of Bal Harbour Village met Tuesday, May 30, 1978 at 9:30 A.M.
Village Hall.
Present: Messrs. Beatty, Davis, Krez, Printup and Taplin
Also present were Fred W. Maley, Village Manager; Mary T. Wetterer, Village
Clerk; and Alan Gold, Village Attorney.
