CALL TO ORDER
The March 10, 2008, Council Work Session was convened at 5:35 P.M. by Mayor John
Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Brown, Crane, Harvey, Klindt, Koon, Layton, Medin, Penfold
Absent: Ferguson and Smith
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS (CIP) PROGRAM
City Administrator Steve Rasmussen handed out a binder and presented information on
Capital Improvements to the Council members. Mayor Landwehr explained to Council that
the Capitol Improvements Projects is a five -year program in which the Council must be
faithful to the voters but also has flexibility. City Administrator Steve Rasmussen explained
that the presentation's purpose was to make Council aware of the plan for future voting
purposes at Council Meetings. There was discussion on what to do with unencumbered
funds.
SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING PROGRAM
City Administrator Steve Rasmussen gave a brief explanation of the current contracts for
recycling, trash collection and yard waste. Councilman Crane asked how other
communities handle their recycling programs. Councilwoman Layton stated that the
Environmental Quality Commission is looking at this issue and will make a report at the next
Administration Committee meeting. The Administration Committee will present the findings
to Council.
